Workshop on "The results and inadequacies in the implementation of forestry policy"

• On the morning of December 7th, CIRUM cooperated with Lao Cai Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to organize the workshop on "Results and Inadequacies in the implementation of forestry policy". The workshop received the presence of General Department of Forestry, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of six northern provinces namely Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, Lang Son and Ha Giang.
  
  Presentations in the workshop all appreciated significant results achieved but also pointed out that policies are not implemented synchronously. Inconsistencies in land allocation, overlapping between forest owners with the people and unclear policies are some rising problems.
  
  
  
  
  The participants also commented that initatives and investments for forest development not fully been supporting the autonomy in production.
  
  
  
  
  Representatives of the General Department of Forestry said that the forestry policy will be reviewed and considered in order to develop a general decree on forestry policies to create favorable conditions for using forestland. Administrative procedures in forestry sector will also be simplified.
